This years Garlic Fundraiser is In loving Memory of Hans Smits. Hans was a dedicated supporter of the small farm, the land ,water,food sovereignty and champion of hope and compassion.
We are so happy you are here! If you are looking for an user friendly fundraiser for your organization this year we are the farm for you! We believe that there should be no imported garlic in Alberta! Garlic is something that can be grown here and it very yummy!
How it works!
- Your organization chooses how many garlic you would like to sell with a 1000 bulb minimum. Mandy may ask for a small deposit to secure participation.
- Go out and get orders ( package size can be increased if sales go well)
- With Mandy you will agree to date and location for delivery of the garlic then your group distributes the garlic.
Each bag is packaged for you. We recommend that groups collect sales all summer as the cream of the crop is at time of harvest which is around mid August.
Mandy would like to distribute garlic between August 15 and November 15 2026.
Example Bags for reselling!
- 200 bags of 5 Bulbs each - Recommended price for you to sell is $30 per bag
- 100 bags of 10 bulbs each -Recommended price for you to sell is $ 50 per bag
The price your organization will pay is $3 per bulb so it is up to your group what you would like to resell them at. My recommendation is based on market price.

Our Garlic
Persian Star garlic offers a robust, flavorful experience with a mellow, rich, and complex taste. It has a mild, spicy zing that is not overpowering, and is known for its sweetness when roasted. When eaten raw, it has a medium, pleasant heat that is less sulfurous and overpowering than some other varieties They are purple striped and are a medium size bulb. Matthew's Zest is our own variety based on years of planting garlic and a combination of Chesnok Red and Russian Red. Chesnok Red garlic is known for its rich, sweet, and flavorful taste, especially when roasted or sauteed. It offers a medium heat level that balances well with its full flavor, and is often described as having a mellow, lingering aftertaste. When eaten raw, it has a medium flavor that is still robust but not overpowering, making it great for salads and dressings. It's a versatile garlic, suitable for a variety of dishes, and is even favored for baking due to its sweetness, Russian Red is known for its robust, spicy, and rich flavor profile that lingers. When cooked, the spicy heat mellows out, leaving a pleasant, earthy sweetness. Mandy selects the best Garlic bulbils ( small, bulb-like structures that grow in the flower head (umbel) of hardneck garlic plants. ) for her seed and so the garlic she sells has a flavor accustomed to her soil as it is worked with for three years before sold.
